Yucky Yarns

Great Yarmouth has a rich heritage to be discovered and Great Yarmouth Guided Heritage Walks and Talks have a fun and interactive way for kids to learn about it.

Yucky Yarns is a family friendly guided walk which starts at Great Yarmouth Minster, led by Jemima Black the custodian of the big book of Yarmouth Yucky Yarns. Families can learn about horrendous history in Great Yarmouth as they hear gory stories, ghastly goings on with pirates, graveyard antics and secret chests! The walk takes approximately 1 hour and comes with an activity book for each child.

Yucky Yarns is open to the public to book and takes place on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 29 May, 11am, £4 per person
  • Sunday 28 July, 2pm, £12 per person with Yucky themed afternoon tea afterwards at Kirstys Cakery
  • Thursday 31 October, 2pm, £12 per person with Yucky themed afternoon tea afterwards at Kirstys Cakery

The recommended age for children is 6-11 years. Bookings close 48 hours ahead of each walk.

The tours can also be booked by schools at the reduced rate of £3 per person, including free spaces for all teachers and accompanying adults. This can be arranged at a time and date to suit your school.
