Admissions policy

School admission policy : 2024/25 (Agreed)

Should there be more children apply for a place than there are places then the criteria for the offer of places is as follows -

  1. Children with a statement of special needs where Yaxham School is the school named in that statement.
  2. Children who are in public care .
  3. Children who live in Yaxham or Whinburgh.
  4. Children who have brothers and sisters in the school.
  5. Children whose parents are members of a local church and desire a church school education for their children and can provide a written statement from their minister.

If all children within any of the above rules cannot be offered a place, the highest priority will be given to children living nearest to the school within that rule. To determine who lives nearest, distance will be measured on a straight line crow fly basis, using Ordnance Survey data.
