To all primary phase schools

Dear Headteacher

ACTIVEMARK AWARD SCHEME – 15 October 2002

Activemark and Activemark Gold are nationally recognised awards given to primary phase schools in recognition of their provision of PE and sport.  I am writing to inform you that this year’s award cycle has started and to offer you the opportunity to attend a special workshop to help you achieve this award.

Achieving an Activemark or Activemark Gold Award is a symbol of your commitment to physical education and sports provision and an indication as to how you are meeting the Government’s entitlement agenda.  Not only does it provide you with a valuable tool to audit what you currently do, it can also:

The Activemark application workshop is offered free of charge by Norfolk LEA and Sport England and will provide:

  1. Guidance on how you can maximise the strengths of your school when completing the application form.

2.   An understanding of how achieving Activemark status can make a difference to your school.

The session will be held at the Professional Development Centre, Woodside Road, Norwich on Tuesday, 15 October from 4 – 6.30 pm. To book your place simply complete the enclosed booking form and return it to:

We very much hope that you will be able to attend on 15 October.  We are confident that you will find the workshop of great benefit in achieving the Activemark Award for your school and ultimately providing the best possible sporting opportunities for your students.  You may be aware of the Sportsmark Award scheme which celebrates provision in secondary phase schools.  Parallel to this we are also running the Sportsmark Workshops on the same night so you will find that your feeder secondary school will be in attendance.

Yours sincerely
