Dear
Colleague
Consultation
packs were sent out on 10th January 2003 seeking comments on
proposals for Community and Voluntary Controlled schools admission arrangements
for September 2004 and providing further information for Foundation and VA
schools in changes to admission legislation effective from September 2004. The packs referred to an admission
consultation website being developed to allow schools to respond on line to LEA
proposals to allow Foundation and VA Primary schools to undertake their
consultations electronically. This is
intended to avoid Foundation and VA schools having to send a copy of their
proposals to all Norfolk schools.
The
web site is finally now available and the address is: www.esinet.norfolk.gov.uk/pacs/admission.
If
you wish to use this web site to undertake your statutory consultation please forward
an electronic copy of your proposals to me at the above email address and these
will be mounted as soon as possible. As
soon as they are available a link will appear on the above page which will take
consultees to the school proposals and allow a comment to be made. Individual schools will be able to access
comments made about their proposals.
Consultation must be concluded before 1st March 2003 and
governors must then have regard to any comment when they finalise their
arrangements for 2004. This must be
done by 15th April 2003 and if final arrangements are confirmed to
me electronically these will then be placed on the web site as all admission
authorities are required to notify all authorities of the determined
arrangement by 29th April 2003.

I
hope the web site helps to make this potentially complex paper process
significantly easier to manage for all admission authorities.
Thanks
