Guidance for schools – eLCs from Standards Fund Grant 618
·
Schools may only spend their eLCs with Curriculum
Online registered content providers/retailers and on Curriculum Online
certified products.
·
Only registered content providers/retailers will be allowed
to use the Curriculum Online logo on their promotional material for products
eligible for eLC spend. There are
3 logo types which denote eligibility for eLC spend. From 7 November
these will be shown on http://www.curriculumonline.gov.uk. Use of the logo will give schools assurance
that a content provider/retailer is registered for Curriculum Online.
·
Eligible Curriculum Online products will have
been certified by registered content providers, who are
responsible for ensuring that products support the curriculum as taught in
England, that at least 80% of their constituent part is digital, and that the
products work well on the technologies specified for those products.
·
If a school is uncertain as to whether a content
provider/retailer is registered or a product certified for Curriculum Online,
we recommend that it should seek confirmation from
the content provider/retailer as to their status and
which products are eligible for purchase with eLCs.
·
Schools should use existing procurement processes to
purchase approved digital resources from registered content
providers/retailers.
·
Schools may choose to purchase approved digital
resources from registered content providers/retailers using part funding from
other sources.
·
Schools should notify the registered content
provider/retailer that eLCs are being used for the purchase (or part purchase)
of approved digital resources to enable the content provider/retailer to
provide the DfES with information on eLC spend.
·
FAQs, information and support for schools on the
use of eLCs will be published on the internet at http://www.curriculumonline.gov.uk
from 7 November 2002.
