Headteacher and Governor Briefings on Educational Visits and Journeys

Following the publication of national guidance from the DfES on Educational Visits and Journeys, the LEA has produced its own policies, procedures and guidance in accordance with the new requirements. You will already have received a letter regarding the designation of a member of staff as an Educational Visit Co-ordinator (EVC) and informing you that the LEA will be providing training for these people. In view of the fact that headteachers and governors will still be a vital part of the approval process, the LEA has planned a series of briefings to facilitate a greater degree of familiarity with the new procedures and guidance.

Dates have been identified for the purpose of briefing headteachers and governors in all phases of education. It must be stressed that if you are the designated EVC for your school it is not necessary for you to attend these briefings as full training will be provided in line with the national training programme for EVCs.

Please identify a date, time and venue from the list provided that corresponds to your phase of education, i.e. secondary or primary, and return the attached slip indicating a first and second choice.
