The Headteacher
Dear Colleague
Value Added - Key Stage 1 (1998) to Key Stage
2 (2002)
This
year, for the first time, we are able to provide you with “value added”
information showing progress from KS1 to KS2.
Our analysis indicates that in your school pupils appear to have made:
1)
«En_Comment» in English
2)
«Ma_Comment» in Maths
3)
«Sc_Comment»
in Science
Information
about your school’s performance can be seen on EsiNet at the “Improving
Performance Step by Step” site, along with other comparative data. To visit this site, go to your EsiNet Home
Page (or type www.esinet.norfolk.gov.uk)
and click on “School Management Resources”, enter your DfES number and password
and you will be able to select “Improving Performance Step by Step”. This is accessible from any computer with
internet access as long as you have the password.
Schools
with small cohorts have been included in this analysis, but their results can
fluctuate dramatically from year to year as one or two pupils may account for a
high proportion of their cohort.
The
enclosed pack includes information about your pupils, in the form of a chart
and a value added table for each of the three subjects, English, Maths and Science. In addition a
“Transition Matrix” sheet is enclosed for English and Maths, all as described
in the attached guidance notes.
In preference to waiting until final figures arrive from QCA at
the end of January, this analysis has been carried out using provisional Key
Stage 2 data. If you are aware of
changes to your Key Stage 2 results that will affect your value added figures,
please contact myself or my colleague, Mark Alexander, on 01603 222984, to make
the necessary amendments.
If you
have any queries regarding the enclosures or any related issues, please do not
hesitate to contact me on 01603 224223.
Any feedback would be welcome.
Yours
sincerely
Chris
