ACTION	Title	Inspection of D & T Workshop Equipment
	Summary of contents	Over the last 2 years, schools have received an inspection of D & T workshop machinery which has been centrally funded. The inspection also looked at the Health & Safety management within the D & T department. The LEA is unable to continue with this centrally funded provision. From 1 April 2002 therefore the inspection service and remedial action will have to be funded from school budgets. This arrangement brings D & T departments into line with other school equipment inspection requirements, which are school funded, i.e. P E equipment, kilns, fume cupboards, fire extinguishers etc. The inspection service will continue to be available to schools on a charging basis from ICT solutions main help desk 0845 3033003. Auditing of H & S Management will be carried out by Norfolk County Council central H & S Auditor.
