Closing the books on the Standards Fund 2001-2

A condition of accepting a Standards Fund grant is that you provide the DfES with information on what it was spent on. Fortunately not a lot of detail is required and we have tried to make the collection of this required data as straight forward as possible.

In April 2001 we asked you to provide for the DfES your plans for spending your Standards Fund allocation. This information was collected electronically. We will use the same process to collecting the required monitoring information from you.

The Standards Fund website in the School Management and Resources section of ESINET carries details of your allocations, your planned expenditure and two new columns to provide detail of actual expenditure. The first of the new columns is to indicate how much of your Standards Fund grants you had spent by the end of the financial year, March 31^st. It is this column that needs to be completed by 31 May 2002. The second of the new columns is for you to provide details of final spend up to 31 August 2002. If you have already fully committed your 2001-2 Standards Fund allocations, to save time you can, if you wish, start to complete this final column now. We will be writing again in July to remind you of the need to complete the final column.

If you have used the optional coding system with your Standards Fund expenditure this should make the completion of the section even easier.

You will note that your expenditure has to be detailed against the DfES’s original grants.
