Summary of action required

Headteachers are asked to:

  1. Familiarise themselves with the procedures as detailed in the documentation.
  2. Brief school staff on the procedure to be followed in the event of a fuel crisis.
  3. Implement the procedure when advised by the Education Department that the Government has formally declared an emergency. Before this time the letters of authority to purchase fuel will not be recognised.
