Management Information Sheet 07/00 (copy enclosed) set out the revised system for funding swimming teachers based at school pools. This system requires information on the amount of swimming taking place by visiting schools at each host school.

In order to allocate the correct amount of funding for the financial year 2001/02 we now need to know about the timetabled use for the 2000/01 academic year. I would appreciate it if schools would return the attached schedule, in the envelope provided, by Friday, 12 January. Schools will be told by 31 January what level of funding they will receive based on this timetabled information. This should allow any queries to be resolved prior to budgets being issued on 28 February.

Entitlements for special schools have not been included on the form but host schools are requested to maintain the present level of swimming provision for special schools where possible, and indicate the time allocated within their timetable.
