Dear Headteacher

To help with your planning, Heather Tyrrell, Senior Adviser, has drawn together an overview of all the nationally required training initiatives occurring in the Autumn Term 2000. Hopefully, this will assist you in planning to manage the staffing implications.

You will see from the enclosed grid that governors, teachers, headteachers and support staff from across the county may well be attending training of one sort or another. There is no doubt this coming Autumn Term is going to be a particularly busy training period for a broad range of people involved in the work of schools.

I suggest that you draw the contents of this grid to the attention of your staff development co-ordinator and your Chair of Governors. We, or other training providers, shall send you further details about each initiative in due course.
