SCHOOLS’ TARGET SETTING TIMETABLE

SECONDARY SCHOOLS – AUTUMN 2002

4 September 2002	Every school receives reminder letter outlining the target-setting process Letter will detail time-scales and activities to be undertaken. LEA will compile pupil names for each school following school’s submission – new intake information to MIC
First half of autumn term	Schools bring together school data and discuss with staff to initiate the process of compiling provisional targets
Early November	Schools receive Fischer data and Autumn Package
22 November 2002	Schools to set provisional targets and submit them to their RDA
by 6 December 2002	LEA analyses school-level data and produces LEA predictive targets based upon composite school results
Between 6 December and 20 December 2002	RDAs negotiate targets with each school in the light of composite LEA predictive targets
By 20 December 2002	Governors verify targets; Chair of Governors, Headteacher and RDA complete and sign the target-setting pro forma and submit to the LEA
