FULL DAY TRAINING FOR TEACHERS NEW TO YEAR 2

Course Fee: £90 Times: 9.30am-3.30pm

A one day course to support teachers who are new to Year 2, or who have not taught Year 2 for some time, in their preparation for statutory assessment at the end of Key Stage 1 in 2001.

The programme will be planned to take account of any new requirements for 2001.

By the end of the course participants will:

be clear about the statutory requirements for assessing Year 2 children
be aware of how to plan the assessment period to make it manageable
have discussed samples of children’s work and feel some confidence in deciding levels

HALF DAY TRAINING FOR CLASSROOM ASSISTANTS

Course Fee: £45 Times: 9.00am-12noon

A half day course to support classroom assistants in their work with teachers in the statutory assessment at the end of Key Stage 1 in 2001.

By the end of the course participants will:

Have a clear overview of end of Key Stage 1 assessment requirements
Be aware of the nature of the assessment materials
Have confidence to support the teacher in carrying out the assessments
