As usual, your assistance is required to ensure that the County Council closes its accounts smoothly and in accordance with the prescribed timetable issued by the Department of Finance and Information (DFI).

Please find enclosed:

1. The "At a Glance" timetable which will help you to manage the process and meet the deadlines set.
2. MI Sheet 49/00 shows statements that confirm your final budget share and earmarked sum for the financial year ending 31 March, 2000.

• Comments regarding the availability of an Applemac staffing spreadsheet.
• If your school is taking on school meals responsibility from 1 April, 2000; arrangements for the banking of meal income and the need to keep a record of the number of free and paid meals.

It is important that the enclosed guidance notes are followed and an MBA posting journal is completed if sundry creditors are required to be set up.

If you require assistance, or have a query regarding closing the accounts, please do not hesitate to contact your Finance Support Officer.
