CLOSING THE ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31 MARCH 2001

As usual, your assistance is required to ensure that the County Council closes its accounts smoothly and in accordance with the prescribed timetable issued by the Department of Finance and Information (DFI).

The closure timetable is broadly similar to last financial year.

Please find enclosed:

  1. The timetable "At a Glance" which will help you to manage the process and meet the deadlines set.

  2. Guidance Notes. These give additional details in respect of supply claims, creditor provision and a reminder regarding Standards Fund Grants.

It is important that the enclosed guidance notes are followed and an MBA journal is completed if sundry creditors are required to be set up.

Please note that confirmation of your final budget share and earmarked sums for the financial year ending 31 March, 2001 will be issued on the 16 March. Forms LMSB2-3, LMSFIN01 and LMSEMS will be issued under cover of a MI Action Sheet.
