EsiNet receives many visits and enquiries from parents seeking information about schools in Norfolk. This will no doubt increase as we encourage parents to register their preferences for schools on-line. As a consequence we plan to develop the SchoolFinder information held on EsiNet to provide a wider range of information about each school in Norfolk. All of the information will be that which is already in the public domain. The main object of the exercise is to bring all of this information together into a single place. I attach a mock up of the detail we intend to include – our thanks to Reepham High School for allowing us to use their information in this way.

We have noted from some other LEA web sites that schools have been given the opportunity to ‘personalise’ their details by adding the school logo, crest or badge. We would also like to offer you this service, as it will help to promote your school while improving the presentation of EsiNet. We would also like to promote your website (if you have one[1]) and give you the opportunity to update and amend details about your school online. The rest of this document explains these developments.

School logo/crest/badge: please use one of the methods explained below:

If you already have an electronic version of your logo:

If you do not already have an electronic version of your logo:

Please go to EsiNet at School Management Resources, Update School Logos & Awards, then follow the on screen instructions.

Use the new file upload facility to send us your logo. This can be in any electronic format, even a Word document.

Please send us a paper copy of your logo (on a sheet of your headed notepaper for example). Sorry, but we cannot return the paper version.

We will create an electronic version of your logo and e-mail a copy back to you. You can then use it in any electronic documents you might create in the future.

We will not use your logo other than on our SchoolFinder pages to promote your school.

Awards and Associations

We are aware that many schools wish to promote the awards they have achieved and the associations they have established. If you tell us about these we will include them with your school’s details. Just go to EsiNet at School Management Resources, Update School Logos & Awards, then follow the on screen instructions.

Updating your details: This new development will include the option for you to update your school’s details on line. More information to follow once the site is ready.

[1] If you are interested in developing your own website please contact the Advisory Service. They offer training using SiteEdit. This is a straight forward, non-techie approach to web page development for staff and pupils to use. Many schools are already up and away with their own web sites using this software. Why not use your web site to publish your prospectus, school development plan, information about the governing body, policies, coming events etc? See how schools are using their website on the EsiNet homepage > School websites of the week.
