Guidance for schools
- All eligible products for purchase using eLCs can be found on
the
Curriculum Online website at www.curriculumonline.gov.uk
- Schools/institutions may only spend their eLCs on multimedia
resources e.g. CD-ROMS, DVDS, software and online services - certified by
registered Curriculum Online suppliers.
- All resources are aligned to the curriculum of subjects taught in
schools in England, ranging from Foundation/Early Years to Key Stage 4.
- Teachers can search by subject, title, size of resource (e.g. from
a single lesson to whole school) or supplier. Teachers can even search for
Foundation resources only, SEN resources only, free/priced resources, or
resources for use with an interactive whiteboard.
- No purchases are made on the Curriculum Online website itself; all
transactions are made through the relevant suppliers' sites. Only
registered suppliers are allowed to use the Curriculum Online logo on
their websites and promotional material.
- Existing procurement processes should be used to purchase approved
multimedia resources from registered suppliers. Purchases may be made
online or offline.
- Schools/institutions may choose to purchase approved multimedia
resources from registered supplier using part funding from other sources.
- Regional Broadband Consortia are able to give guidance to schools
on appropriate materials and opportunities to participate in aggregated
procurements. Contact details can be found on www.broadband.ngfi.gov.uk.
- Schools/institutions should notify the registered supplier that
eLCs are being used for the purchase (or part purchase) of approved
multimedia resources to enable the supplier to provide the Department for
Education and Skills with information on eLC spend.
- If a school/institution has not received an allocation of eLC
funds, it should contact its local education authority and speak to the
individual or team responsible for distributing Standards Fund money
received from the Department for Education and Skills.
- If the school/institution is unable to resolve this issue, they
should contact the Department's Curriculum Online team by e-mail
help@curriculumonline.gov.uk or by telephone on 0870 000 2288.
