SUSPENSION OF AUTUMN TERM 2OO4 SEN PUPIL AUDIT

You may recall I wrote to you on 14 July 2004 outlining proposals to review the funding arrangements for SEN within mainstream schools.

The recommendation to suspend the Autumn 2004 SEN Pupil Audit was agreed by Cabinet when it met on 9 August, therefore no audit will be undertaken.

Proposals for a new distribution mechanism will be part of the Autumn Fair Funding consultation.  The first stage of the consultation process will be to consider the “success factors” which should drive the new funding arrangements.  Proposed factors will be included in the Fair Funding consultation paper which will be issued in mid-September.

Consultation meetings have been arranged on the following dates and times to consider these factors:

4 October, 2004        19.00 hours        Springwood High School, King’s Lynn

5 October, 2004        19.00 hours        Great Yarmouth High School

6 October, 2004        19.00 hours        Blyth Jex High School, Norwich

7 October, 2004        16.30 hours        Northgate High School, Dereham

A further set of consultation meetings will be held during the week commencing 22 November to consider detail funding options and individual school-by-school analysis.
