ACTION	Title	CRITICAL INCIDENTS Dealing with traumatic events in schools.
	Summary of contents	Attached is a document ‘Critical Incidents in Schools : Emergency Information’ (the Red Book) which must be completed to detail key contacts who will be responsible for certain actions should an incident arise, the booklet will prompt essential action and provide a record of factual information. This booklet should be located in the school office and must be retained following any incident.
	Associated documents	Critical Incidents: A Support Framework for Norfolk Schools (Green Book) – 4^th Edition 2001.

	Summary of action required	Ensure all staff and governors are aware of the content of both Green and Red Books and that appropriate planning takes place. All schools to complete the Red Book and display it in the school office.
