INFORMATION	Title	DATA PROTECTION AGENCY
	Summary of contents	An organisation operating under the name of ‘Data Protection Agency Service’ are again targeting schools with a final notice implying that the school is not registered with the Information Commissioner in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, The Agency suggests that schools may be liable to a £5,000 fine for failure to register. They then offer their services to register schools with the Information Commissioner for a fee of £95. All schools are registered with The Data Protection Commissioner and renew their registration yearly with a fee of £35. Any approach from the ‘Data Protection Service Agency’ should be ignored, do not respond to their ‘Final Notice’.
