Update on 2004 Performance Data Analyses:
(1) National
Consortium for Examination Results (NCER) Reports
(2) Fischer
Family Trust (FFT) Estimates for KS4 2006
(3) New
Fischer Family Trust report to support School Self-Evaluation
(4) Fischer
Family Trust database on CD
(5) Pupil
Achievement Tracker (PAT) file for your school
(1) National
Consortium for Examination Results (NCER) Reports
I was hoping to be able to send you the usual GCSE and A Level reports at the end of this week, but unfortunately complications with the new Section 96 awards have caused a delay. I expect to receive the data by the end of next week and forward them to you by 8th October (courier post). We are investigating ways of providing these in electronic format in the future.
(2) Fischer Family Trust (FFT) Estimates for KS4
2006
Last year I was able to send you the KS4 estimates for 2005 in mid-October. This year, as you will know, there has been a delay with the QCA processing KS3 results and the latest estimate for KS3 Performance tables checking is January. Without these results, the Fischer Family Trust is unable to calculate the relevant estimates. Until these are available, the only thing I can offer to support your target setting process is a set of KS4 2006 estimates based on KS2. At present there are no KS4 subject grade estimates based on KS2, but I am currently in negotiation with FFT to provide these. When they arrive, I’ll forward a copy of your estimates to you.
(3) New Fischer Family Trust report to support School Self-Evaluation
I am sending you, by courier post
because it is school specific, a “Trial Version” of a document FFT has produced
in support of School Self-Evaluation. Mike Treadaway, of FFT, has offered me
the opportunity to share these with a few, or all, of our schools in order to
obtain some feedback. I have decided to
share the opportunity with all high schools.
If you have any comments, please feed them back to me and I’ll pass them
on to FFT as appropriate.
(4) Fischer Family Trust database on CD
As
you are aware, I am able to provide you with your FFT data electronically on
request. If you would like to receive a CD
with all your school’s FFT data in a database, please let me know. You will need to have Access 2000 (or newer,
such as XP) to run the database, but you don’t need to be an Access expert as
it has a user-friendly front-end.
(5) Pupil
Achievement Tracker (PAT) file for your school
The DfES has
provided a facility for you to download a PAT file for your school. The website address is www.keytosuccess.dfes.gov.uk
and the user name and password is the same as for the S2S and Data Collection
websites. The current files do not include any 2004 data, but do include the
following:
·
2003 KS3 matched to 2000 KS2
·
2002 KS3 matched to 1999 KS2
·
2001 KS3 matched to 1998 KS2
If
you need further information about the Pupil Achievement Tracker please contact
either myself (tel. 01603 224223), or John Spradbery (tel. 01603 433276).
I hope this clarifies the current situation regarding
availability of performance data analyses. As always, I would be very happy to
discuss, or provide assistance with, the above or any other performance data
matter, so please don’t hesitate to give me a call.
