Danger from
Spike Topped Railings |
||
Summary of contents |
A Norfolk
Primary school recently experienced a serious accident when a pupil was
impaled on a spike topped railing adjacent to the playground. The incident was such that the Fire
Services had to be called to cut the child free from the railing. Clearly we
are anxious to ensure that such an accident does not re-occur. This MI sheet includes information and
guidance to help establishments to assess the risk where such railings exist
and to take the necessary corrective actions. |
