Dear
Colleague
Primary
Behaviour Strategy
I
am pleased to inform you that Norfolk has been selected for involvement in the
DfES Primary Behaviour Strategy. This
strategy has been made available to LEAs that have areas of significant
deprivation but which did not qualify for earlier initiatives such as
Excellence in Cities.
A
paper is attached which gives a summary of the project. A key feature of the project will be termly
cluster meetings. These will be made
available to all schools in January, March and June 2004 and again in 2004 -
2005 and will focus on developing approaches to addressing behaviour
difficulties. Funding for supply cover for one member of staff will be made
available to all primary schools and primary focused special schools and Pupil
Referral Units. Each cluster meeting will be supported by members of staff from
the Advisory and Pupil Access and Support Services and will follow a DfES
suggested agenda.
You
will hear from Chris Snudden and James Thatcher about these meetings in the
near future and I am writing to ask you to give thought to who will attend from
your school as the lead behaviour professional. It is important that there is
senior representation by a member of staff able to help develop whole-school
approaches.
If
you have any queries about this project please speak to the following members
of staff:
Liz Jones (PA&SS) 01603

Chris Snudden (NEAS) 01603

James Thatcher (PA&SS) 01603 222574
Yours sincerely
Director of Education
