SERVICES TO SCHOOLS 2004/05

Please find enclosed the Services to Schools booklet for 2004/05.

The contract to purchase form will be sent to you when you receive confirmation of your budget share.  The form will, as usual, outline the various purchase options and will be school specific.

You will note that there are changes this year and I would ask you to review the various options available.  I would also draw your attention to the following important points:

  1. Transitional Relief Funding

The criteria for school eligibility to transitional funding relief for 2004/05 will include a requirement for all eligible schools to have a plan in place for appropriate support in the following areas:

Finance Support

Personnel Service

School Sickness Insurance

Building Maintenance

2.      PFI

Schools subject to PFI provision should buy a resource related service as normal and adjustments will be made during the year and prior to schools being charged for the service.  Schools involved with PFI provision will be given details as soon as possible.

3.      Broadband

All schools with Broadband provision should read page 50 of the brochure.  This will be shown as school specific on the contract to purchase form and schools buying this service will receive funding for 2004/05.

4.      Financial Support to Schools (page 26)

Small schools requiring to upgrade from the small schools package must upgrade to the gold service.

5.      New Services
