Dear
Colleague
ICT
IN SCHOOLS - ONE DAY CONFERENCES 29, 30, AND 31 MARCH
2004
I
would like to invite you to one of the ICT IN SCHOOLS conferences we are
organising over the last three days in March.
Given the success of the conferences last year we are planning a similar
type of event but this time focussed on the use of ICT.
Whilst
the overall theme for the conference will be the Use of ICT we will be
focussing on three themes each day, ie:
·
The Use of ICT in Learning
·
Learning Systems, Training and Hands on Support
·
Community Learning
The
conference will be a mix of general, broader focussed, innovation and
discursive sessions, supported by more specialist sessions and demonstrations
of best practice taught lessons and suppliers products.
The
conference will highlight the Government’s changing policy context, which is
now focussed on ICT pedagogy and whole school improvement. It will set out to show how Norfolk is
supporting schools to become e-confident.
Opportunities
will be given to delegates to listen to external speakers; talk to suppliers;
see good practice being demonstrated in a virtual school and see a range of
software available to schools.
The
three one-day conferences are being held at the John Innes Centre,
Norwich. Each school is invited to send
two staff to one of the day time conferences.
The
conference will be an opportunity for Headteachers and ICT Co-ordinators to
obtain an update of ICT strategy, developments, initiatives and best
practices. A number of Advisory Service
staff and ICT Solutions staff will also be available each day to deal with
individual school queries.
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend one of the above days. The programme of events is repeated on each day to ensure that all schools are receiving the same information. Registration and coffee will be at 08.30 hours, with the conference beginning at 09.15 hours. Lunch will be provided.
This
year’s conference is also extending into the early evening on 29 and
30 March to give the opportunity to teaching staff and governors who
cannot attend during the day. Evening
places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
If you
wish to attend the conference, including the early evening sessions, please
book on line via the ICT Solutions Website http://ictsolutions.norfolk.gov.uk/ictinschools
by Friday, 5 March, 2004.
Further
details, including the location venue, will be sent out nearer the date.
If you have any queries, please contact
Judy or Sarah on 01603 475647.
Yours sincerely
Paul
Fisher
