Dear Headteacher
I am writing to remind you of the LEA’s policy and timetable
for First Admissions for September 2004.
Key Dates:
·
March 19th 2004 – closing
date for applications from parents
First
Admissions form and registration list to be sent to the local Admissions
Office. Registration list to include names, dates of birth and addresses of
those children who you intend offering places to.
Your
registration list and first admission form must be returned even if your school
is not oversubscribed

May 7th 2004 - All offers to be made of First
Admission places.
Schools must
not inform parents of allocations before this date even if the school is not
oversubscribed. If you have not heard anything from the LEA by 7th
May you are free to offer places.
First Admissions policy.
Children born between 1st September and 28/29th
February 2000 may start school full time no earlier than the beginning of the
autumn term before their fifth birthday.
Children born between 1st March and 31st
August 2000 may start school part time no earlier than the beginning of the
autumn term before their fifth birthday and full time at the beginning of the
spring term before their fifth birthday.
