Dear
Headteacher
You will recall receiving, in November 2003,
a pack containing information and claim forms relating to salary support
grants.
One form included in the pack (referenced
PPP4) was to claim 60% grant towards the cost of a performance point awarded to
teachers on the leadership scale in the 2003/04 academic year. The grant could be claimed for Headteachers,
Deputy Headteachers and Assistant Headteachers provided that they did not
receive a performance point in the 2002/03 academic year (a point awarded
in the 2002/03 academic year continues to be covered by the PPP3 grant).
The deadline for submitting the PPP4 form to
me was 31 December 2003.
The DfES have now offered a further
opportunity for schools to submit a PPP4 form where, because of their
performance review cycle, they were unable to submit a form to meet the 31
December deadline.
I enclose a PPP4 form, identical to the one
sent last term. If you missed the
original deadline for claiming this grant and would now like to claim, or have
additions to make to your original claim, you are invited to return the
attached form to me by 2 April 2004.
The PPP4 forms sent to the DfES after the 31
December deadline are currently being processed but it would now seem likely
that the 2003/04 grant will be paid in 2004/05.
Please ensure that teachers on the
leadership scale who received a performance point in the 2002/03 academic year
are not included on this form.
If you have any queries, please contact me on
the above number
Yours
sincerely
Kim Robertson
