I am very pleased
that Jenny Gage from the MOTIVATE team has agreed to venture over to Norfolk
and deliver these two courses.
2MN012,
Mathematics Teaching With and Interactive White Board
2MN030,
Video Conferencing for mathematics
I am increasingly
aware that Interactive Whiteboards are
appearing in mathematics classrooms across the county. I hope that these
courses will support those of you who are already teaching with these boards
and also inspire those who are considering their possible use in mathematics
teaching.
MOTIVATE is
a project developed by Cambridge University’s Department of Applied Mathematics
and Theoretical Physics, and School of Education that aims to involve schools
in video-conferencing or in using interactive whiteboards in a multi-media
environment.
Their web-site can be
found at www.motivate.maths.org
It
contains details of next year’s program and an on-line registration form so
that you can choose which you want to join. As well as long projects lasting a
month, they are planning one-day conferences in the style of a Master Class
using interactive video-conferencing.
