National Numeracy Strategy Unit Plans

Years 4, 5 & 6

The use of detailed lesson plans in Year 4 and Year 6 has been piloted by 10,000 teachers during 2001-2002.  The final versions of these plans will now be available I printed files, and on the Standards Website, for all teachers who wish to use them, as will the version of plans for Year 5.  Each ‘Unit Plan’ has lessons and resources linked to the yearly teaching programmes in the Framework for teaching mathematics.

Years 1, 2 & 3

During 2002-2003, similar plans for use in Years 1, 2 and 3 will be developed and trialled.

Each file of Unit Plans will contain a CDROM with Word and PDF versions of the plans.  The Word versions will allow you to modify the plans electronically.
