Dear Induction Tutor,

I hope that the first few weeks of working with your Newly Qualified Teacher(s) have gone well. I was pleased that so many of you were able to come to the 'Welcome to Induction' sessions with your NQTs - thank you for making the time to support them in that way at the start of their Induction period.

As you will see, I enclose a copy of a CD-Rom which has recently been produced by the TTA. It contains a range of Induction-related guidance and material, hard copies of which you may already have. It includes:

• All the TTA induction publications;
• The Secreatary of State's statutory guidance on induction;
• Interactive forms (eg Career Entry Profile, observation sheets)
• A section where you can save your own notes

Additional copies can be obtained free of charge from TTA publications unit (tel: 0845 6060 323).

Although the CD-Rom materials include the statutory assessment report forms, we have already customised these for use in our Norfolk schools and have included copies in your Induction Support Packs. The Norfolk versions can also be downloaded from our website, along with a range of other items from the pack. These can be found in the Teacher Zone (under the Professional Development section) of the esinet : www.norfolkesinet.org.uk . Please use Norfolk forms, rather than those on the CD-Rom, when reporting to us on the progress of your NQT.

I can confirm that, in the light of requests from schools, we are planning to repeat the NQT training course on 'Understanding SEN' in the spring term, and will send out further details when the dates and venues have been established.
