In the last few years the Local Education Authority (LEA) has collected a great deal of information about the condition of our school buildings.

Although the LEA still has to assess funding needs and priorities, it can now, using the new information, do it on a basis which is more open and more clearly understood, than before.

This course will:

• help you find out about how the this information is being used, can be accessed, analysed and turned into clear priorities by the LEA – and how governors can do the same at school level for a Premises Development Plan
• help you identify ways you can use the data to set your own priorities
• inform you about sources of premises information, sources of finance, and the LEA’s strategic plans and priorities
• look at practical ways of developing a simple premises plan for your school
