Dear Colleague

Review of School Organisation

The County Council Cabinet decided at its meeting before Christmas that a review of school organisation should take place in the Central Area schools. It agreed in principle that it would like to change the age of transfer between schools to align with the national curriculum and to consult on how this can best be achieved. Copies of the report can be found on the review website at: www.esinet.norfolk.gov.uk/review/norwich

Attached to this letter is an outline of the process that we need to follow in order to take this review forward. The task for this term is to prepare realistic options for change that can be taken back to County Council Cabinet for consideration in the summer term. I hope that you will be able to contribute your thoughts to this initial work because this is the time when your professional expertise and experience can help shape the range of options that will be discussed.

We have identified officers to lead the review in each cluster and they are listed below for your information. Your lead officer will be contacting you in the next few weeks to discuss how best to develop the options for your cluster of schools. Lead officers will meet together to coordinate thoughts across clusters and can feed back to you what is being discussed in neighbouring clusters. As options develop we will place them upon the review website so that you can see them and where appropriate comment on them.
