School transport update from the

Passenger Transport Unit

Hello and Welcome back!

We wanted to provide you with some information on School Transport for the start of term: -

·        Travel passes have been issued for all eligible students, so any children without a valid pass are not entitled to use the transport.

·        Please do not allow these children to travel without checking with the Passenger Transport Unit first, as the buses are all very full and there could be loading issues.

·        Please make sure new admissions to your school are given an application form to complete and return it to the Passenger Transport Unit.

·        Children not entitled to free transport will hear very soon if they can be provided with travel assistance.

·        We are sending posters to high schools to remind students to apply for Post 16 Transport.  Please display these within school so that they will be seen when students collect their results.

Please remember to complete any outstanding inset days promptly on the education website.  Inset days can be found on the Education Esinet under School Management Resources.

Don’t forget that schools are financially responsible if the transport runs unnecessarily.
