Truancy Patrols - Norwich and Thetford

On Wednesday 21st May in Norwich and Thetford a joint exercise between Norfolk Pupil Attendance Service and the Police will take place to challenge all school age children on the streets.

Some children may be returned to school by the patrol or requests made for information by telephone to confirm the reason for a pupils absence. Your help with this would be greatly appreciated. Also it would be most helpful to inform me if your pupils have study leave or are involved in work experience on that day.

The timing for this event has largely been dictated by the requirements from the DfES and Police, and probably is not the period in the term we would have chosen, however I am sure we can rely on your support for this task in raising the profile and importance of regular school attendance.
