The Folklore of Plants

Come and join us for a light-hearted and informal look at some of the stories and beliefs that lie behind many of the common plants of our countryside.

Which tree would you plant to keep away witches ?

What leaf do you wear to prevent being pinched ?

Which plant told spitfire pilots the time ?

What flowers did Queen Victoria regularly send to Disraeli ?

Find out the answers and much, much more about the plants around you as we tell the tales, ramble through the woods and cross the heath.

3rd – 5th May, 2002

Spring Birdwatching

Everyone is welcome, but sorry, it will not suit ‘twitchers’!
