Community Fire Safety Competition 2002

Following last year’s success in attracting a good response from schools in the West of the County to participate in a Community Fire Safety competition Norfolk Fire Service intend to run a county wide event this year.

The intention of this competition is to encourage various Key stage groups to consider Fire Safety within their normal curricular activities at the commencement of the new term, and is likely to become a regular event.

The theme for this competition has been drawn from National Community Fire Safety initiatives and will this year be: -

Domestic Fire Action Plan

Year five pupils from your school are invited to enter this competition and design a poster that artistically depicts a typical domestic fire action plan (The actions a family should take prior to and upon discovering a fire in their home)

A representative from Norwich Electrical, the competition sponsors and the Deputy Chief Fire Officer of Norfolk Fire Service will judge all entries.

The school supporting the winning entry will receive a cheque for £100 with the pupil responsible for the poster receiving a smoke detector for the family home and a book token.

A presentation of these prizes will be made during the Norfolk Fire Service achievers lunch on 31st October 2002.
