Dear Headteacher,

 

2002 Christmas Card Painting/Drawing Competition for Pupils Aged 7-16 Years

 

This year we have continued with the two age categories based around the National Curriculum key stages:-

 

—           pupils aged between 7 and 11 years at 31st August 2002

—           pupils aged between 11 and 16 years at 31st August 2002

 

There will be six winning designs from both categories (see below) and an overall card winner which will be printed and used as our 2002 Christmas Card which is sent to a number of our customers and suppliers.

 

Entries should:

—           use a wide variety of materials and media.

—           take account of the two NC art attainment targets and their relationship

—           have a spiritual and cultural element.

 

The entries will be judged on the following criteria:

 

—           imagination

—           degree of skill displayed

—           use of colour

—           relevance to Christmas

 

The entries should be A5 size (148 x 210mm), one entry per pupil, using any medium except collage.

 

All entries should be received by Friday 22nd November 2002 accompanied by the completed entry form overleaf.

 

Prizes (For both age categories)

 

                For the pupil       -                1st prize:                  £40 worth of ESPO art and design products*

                                                -                2nd prize:                 £20 worth of ESPO art and design products

                                                -                3rd prize:                 £10 worth of ESPO art and design products

 

                For the school      -                1st prize:                  £120 worth of ESPO stock items

                                                -                2nd prize:                 £  60 worth of ESPO stock items

                                                -                3rd prize:                 £  30 worth of ESPO stock items

*  The overall winner will also receive a number of his/her own exclusive winning design Christmas cards, which
    can be used to send to family and friends.

Winning schools will be notified by Friday 6th December.  Good luck.
