Get children drawing for  BBCi in Norfolk

In an attempt to encourage greater computer awareness amongst children and their families, we would like more young people to take part in our initiative to get children's designs on the BBC Norfolk website.

As a result we have come up with two schemes for which we would welcome drawings from members of your school:

 Design an e-card
 Weather gallery pictures.

 Design an e-card.
There is no theme as such, the picture just has to be loosely based around the idea of  "where I live" or somewhere in Norfolk. Therefore it could be of a class party, a school picnic,  a school outing, the village church, a trip with Gran to the shops, a Norfolk scene etc. The picture can  be surreal or abstract, whatever.

Current photo e-cards can be viewed at <http://www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk/e_cards/index.shtml>

Weather gallery
These pictures would be of the various weather that we have here in Norfolk: sunny, rainy, snowing, floods, dull, etc.  We are happy to stray a little bit and encourage weather images from children's holidays etc

All the pictures received would be stored in our database and we would publish a selection with only the child's first name, age and school. The images would be rotated on a regular basis.

Having material published is exciting at any age, and I do hope you feel that this initiative is something that some of your pupils may like to become involved in.

You can see an example of how this has worked on the Where I Live site for Northamptonshire  at <http://www.bbc.co.uk/northamptonshire/weather/kids_gallery.shtml>

Should you need any further details then please do not hesitate to contact me

NB for teachers: The site has a comprehensive section of Norfolk nature that you might find a useful resource in assisting with school project. It can be found at www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk/nature
