Sally North’s Victorian School was filmed by the BBC for their Landmark programmes in 2002

 

Only one school visits at a time. Now in its ninth year the school has become increasingly oversubscribed

 

I am now taking bookings for both the Summer and the Autumn terms.

 

ØSally North instructs in the classroom for approximately half the  visit. Lessons include the three R’s, Hymn singing to harmonium, classroom drill, object lesson etc..

 

ØDip pens Slates and 19th century ‘Hands On’ school experiences

 

ØPlaytime - Hoop bowling, Spinning tops, Skittles.

 

ØVisit by The Squire, the Rectors wife or spinster for needlework

 

ØLit by authentic oil lamp and heated by coal ‘Tortoise’ stove

 

ØSmall museum of childhood with quiz sheets

 

1.     Sally North has more than thirty years experience in ‘theatre in education’ and living history

 

2.     Great Cressingham National School was built in 1840 and has been restored to its Victorian heyday by Sally and Tom North. Over eight thousand children have experienced it during the nine years it has been open

 

3.      School visits are free for Norfolk schools. There is no shop and the school is completely free from commercial influence.
