Patient and Public Involvement Forums

Patient and Public Involvement Forums (PPIFs) are new organisations, which began working, in December 2003, to give members of the public an effective voice about the way their local healthcare is delivered.  There is a Forum associated with, but independent of, every NHS Trust and Primary Care Trust in England.  The Forums are made up of local people and patients who volunteer to become members.

Do you want to find out what’s going on?  Do you feel strongly about a particular aspect of healthcare in your area that you would like a Forum to look into?

The whole ethos of Forums is to channel the issues that are important to local communities and make recommendations to healthcare Trusts.  These Trusts will then have to listen to the issues being highlighted.  Forums look at health and social care services from a patient’s perspective.  They may also consider issues that have an influence on health, as well as health services, e.g. the environment, housing, unemployment, lifestyle issues and poverty.  Forums are very keen for members of the public to feel welcome to attend their meetings in public and to become involved if they wish.

These forums are for you to have your say.

In this area there are Forums matching the areas covered by:

North Norfolk PCT

Broadland PCT

Norwich PCT

Southern Norfolk PCT

Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital Trust

Norfolk Mental Health Care Trust

East Anglian Ambulance Trust
