The ‘Big Wide
Talk’ Children’s Project presents
EXHIBITION-EXPEDITION
A new kind of conference for
children, parents, practitioners, researchers, entrepreneurs and politicians
everywhere!
22nd-23rd April 2004 Truman Breweries Buildings, Brick Lane, London
The Big Wide Talk Children’s project exists to build capacity to invest in
children undertaking action research about the ways in which children grow up.
Big Wide Talk links this to the development of locally specific services and to
arguments about: inclusion for children with special educational needs,
poverty, exclusion, active citizenship, social enterprise and childhood.
The research is driven by shared experience ranging from carefully scripted
adventures to local experiments with specially designed provocations. Shared
analysis and interpretation by parents and practitioners derive findings.
Multi-media tools are used as well as sustained local and national discussion.
Three new provocations will be available to explore people and place, light
and volume, and climbing. Children and adults are invited to share these
exciting experiences together.
Seminars will offer an examination of how these methods can contribute to
growing the economy and building a future fit for children.
