SHAIR – Schools Historical and Archaeological Interactive Resource.

The Forum Trust is developing a new project called SHAIR and would like feedback from schools in Norfolk.  SHAIR is essentially a loan service offering a box of artefacts such as pottery, animal bones, metal artefacts, etc plus other archaeological and historical resources which can be used in class to give children a cost-free hands-on experience of history.  The box will be compiled alongside a complementing interactive website containing background and detailed information on artefacts, archaeological sites, and cultural themes; copyright free teaching resources; and useful links and addresses.  SHAIR will be developed, in line with the national curriculum, around the theme of the Anglo-Saxons and it is hoped to get teachers involved in its development.  Do you think that SHAIR would be a valuable resource for you?  Would your class enjoy such an experience? Would you be interested in helping in SHAIR’s development?  If yes to any of these or if you would like more information please contact Anj Cox on 01603 727932 or anj.cox@theforumnorwich.co.uk and Ellie Phillips on 01603 727991, ellie.phillips@theforumnorwich.co.uk

Thanks for your help.
