Dear
Head Teacher
I’m
writing with good news about a travel
subsidy which your school can claim to facilitate a visit to our museum.
We
have recently been given a grant by the Clan Trust to support visits here by
schools from areas of need. Your school
is eligible for a grant of £50 per visit
towards travel.
As
your school has over 25% free school meals, your students will enter the museum for free.
The
Clan Trust are supporting us in this way because they have been impressed with
the way we cover issues around food, farming and the countryside. In addition to our working farm, the museum
offers a historic workhouse, recreations of shops and homes and beautiful
grounds.
Roots
offers a great opportunity to experience the best of Norfolk’s countryside and
its agricultural heritage. Our education team will work closely with
you to ensure your visit is a success.
For
more details about the site, opening times and our school events, take a look
inside the enclosed leaflet. To book a
visit call Natasha Gales on 01362 869251and mention the Clan Trust
travel subsidy.
We
look forward to welcoming you to Roots very soon.
I’m writing with information
about our museum’s autumn/winter programme for schools.
We specialise in the
Victorian period and the workhouse, farm and recreations of shops and cottages
here make us ideally placed to offer an inspiring and ‘living’ learning
experience.
We offer a full programme of
off the shelf and tailor-made packages covering history topics
for all school ages. And spaces are
still available on some of our autumn and winter special events
including Victorian Christmas.
It is also possible to book
now for our March 2005 Special Events.
These will include Victorian Activity Days and Evacuees Days.
For further information or
to book places on any of the above, please call Natasha Gales on 01362
869251.
Yours sincerely
Colly Mudie
Museum Education Officer
