Briefing for Headteachers on the New Approach to Inspection

Briefing for Headteachers on the New Approach to Inspection

From September 2009 the evaluation schedule for the inspection of schools will be revised, as will the school self-evaluation summary. As a pilot authority for the new inspection we are in a position to provide headteachers with a briefing on what the key differences are likely to be, compared with the current system.

In order to prioritise this we have revised the agenda for the CPD for Headteachers linked to the Primary National Strategy. As most headteachers are signed up to attend one of these sessions a significant proportion of the session will now focus on New arrangements for Ofsted Inspection. From the autumn term more detailed training will be set up for senior leaders.

The agenda for the 3-hour session will include:
  • Standards funded support and training for schools 2009-10
  • New approach to inspection
  • Primary attendance - persistent absence

Please note if you have not booked to attend a headteachers' session, the available dates are below and may be booked online.
