Management Information Sheet
Embedding the Links
Embedding the Links
Embedding the Links will assist schools and governors to understand how the recent changes to working practices: the National Workload Agreement, workforce reform and modernisation, including more support staff roles, and revised performance management arrangements for teachers and headteachers and CPD fit together to enhance the school improvement planning process. The Embedding the Links leaflet is available as a download on the Norfolk Schools website. This document will be a useful addition to the Professional Standards for Teachers, the Norfolk Framework for Teachers Professional Development and the Norfolk Framework for School Support Staff - for more details go to Norfolk Schools - A-Z index, select W for Workforce Remodelling.
Performance management is a statutory entitlement for all teachers and many schools are also developing a similar approach for their support staff. We are currently drawing together examples of best practice models for performance management of support staff which we will share with you in the near future. In the meantime, if you require any support with this development, please contact the School Workforce Development Team at workforce.development@norfolk.gov.uk or telephone Peter Simmonds on 07795 265669, or Denise Beckett on 01603 222743, or Virginia Wakely on 01603 638092.
Please note there are still places available on the last two sessions for Performance Management for Teachers, Training for Reviewers: 16 June at the Imperial Hotel, Great Yarmouth, and 7 July at Fakenham Racecourse. These morning sessions, followed by optional buffet lunch, are free to schools and places can be booked by contacting Lisa Harrison on 01603 638098 or by email.
Training and Development Opportunity
Finally, please click here to access a letter and application form for two training opportunities within the Eastern Region to promote awareness of the Embedding the Links project: one on 29 June at Wyboston Lakes, Bedfordshire, and another one in October (date and venue to be confirmed). Both training opportunities will be the same but it is hoped that by having them in different parts of the region, this will allow more delegates to attend. The events are free, with lunch and cover costs are available for up to two places per school. As the world of CPD and CPD leadership is developing very fast this is an essential event for all those who have a responsibility to co-ordinate or lead CPD in their school or across their cluster. Places will fill up very quickly so early booking is recommended.
If you have a query or would like more information, please contact Peter Simmonds, Denise Beckett or Virginia Wakely in Children's Services at County Hall.
