Extended Schools Disadvantaged Subsidy
Norfolk Launch Events - 19 and 29 June
The Local Authority is currently participating in a pilot project during 2009-10 around the Extended Schools Disadvantaged Subsidy Grant which has a primary focus to enable children and young people from economically disadvantaged circumstances to access extended services and activities within their communities. The seven clusters involved in the pilot project are: Sewell Park and Sprowston (Central), Acle (East), Long Stratton (South), Sheringham (North) and Springwood and Terrington St Clements (West).
Norfolk Launch Events - 19 and 29 June
The subsidy grant will become available to all clusters from April 2010 and as part of the preparation for this each cluster is invited to send a representative to one of the Norfolk launch events. Please liaise within your cluster to ensure that a representative attends one of the events:
19 June at Norwich City Football Club
29 June at West Norfolk Professional Development Centre
These will be morning sessions followed by a buffet lunch.

The events will be facilitated by the Training and Development Agency for Schools and will allow delegates to:
Understand the facts about the subsidy funding - policy, implementation and benefits Explore the options for identifying and engaging the target group of children and their parents/carers Explore the practicalities of implementing the subsidy Benefit from the practical learning and experience of the pathfinders Review the support resources available.
