School Workforce Census - Statutory Autumn 2009 Return

This is a reminder that the DCSF requires all schools to undertake this return on the 1 October 2009.

Following discussions with some headteachers, please note that the DCSF cannot offer any individual or school dispensation from participation in the School Workforce collection. They state that neither heads nor governing bodies can decide not to participate as it is a statutory requirement and not possible to opt out. (For the full legal obligations, please see the DCSF FAQs published on the Norfolk Schools website by clicking here).

Please ensure that your School Workforce Census file reaches the Information and Research Centre at County Hall no later than the 6 October 2009. Those of you on e1 will need to make your returns available for us to collect; other MI systems will need to send your files via AVCO/Anycomms or s2s as usual.

What can I do now?
You must ensure your school staff data is up to date. Please refer to MI sheet 147/09 for the latest Schools Information Bulletin containing links to all the current help and guidance. This also provides details of the steps you need to undertake to ensure your school is ready for the School Workforce Census return.

e1 Schools
A series of subsidised training sessions have been arranged by ICT Solutions specifically aimed at helping e1 schools complete the SWF Census - to book a place please click here.
