On-Site Residential Caretakers
A reminder to all Headteachers, when recruiting on-site residential caretakers
There has been a recent case when a school failed to notify NPS when advertising and recruiting for the replacement of an on-site residential caretaker and this resulted in NPS having the wrong information about the school. We wish to draw your attention to the importance of NPS being involved from the outset of the process so that Schedules of Condition and Occupancy Agreements etc can be kept up to date. NPS also action the rent and where applicable, utility deductions in respect of the caretaker's property.
Please therefore remember to advise either Luc Wigy (01603 706162) or Kevin Brown (01603 706158) at the outset of the staff recruitment process.
Could you also bear in mind that, as soon as your caretaker announces that s/he intends to retire, NPS must be informed so that they can manage the vacating of the property in time to accommodate any new member of staff.
