HSE has issued a safety alert to schools that use laptop computer charging trolleys to raise awareness of the potential electrical dangers and the steps they should take to protect staff and pupils. This follows an incident in which a teacher at a Bradford school needed hospital treatment after he suffered an electric shock while handling a laptop charging trolley.

We have also included operating instructions that should be followed by all schools.
